VIDEO’s
4xCCU Basic Controller INTRODUCTION
This is the 1st in a
multi-part video showing the operation and features of a 4 camera ATEM CCU
controller (CCU control surface). This part describes the connections and basic
operation.
B4 on Micro 4/3 lens sensitivity adjustment
This video shows how
to get better control of iris when using a B4 lens with an ATEM and CCU
control.
The sensitivity can be adjusted to give you the exact feel for iris control so
experiment away.
4xCCU Basic Controller ADVANCED MODE
This video
demonstrates using the 4xCCU Basic Controller to do advanced ATEM camera
adjustments like Gain in dB steps, Shutter, Degrees Kelvin, Detail, Bars
on/off, Focus, Zoom, Aperture, Contrast, Hue, Saturation, YRGB.
4xCCU
Basic Controller PAINT MODE
This video demonstrates using the 4xCCU
Basic Controller to do camera paint of the ATEM camera adjustments RED gain,
Gammas, blacks, GREEN gains, gammas, blacks, BLUE gains, gammas, BLUE blacks,
ALL (Y) gains,gammas, blacks.
4xCCU Basic Controller CCU MONITORING
Here I show the AUX BUSS camera preview
capabilities of the 4xCCU Basic Controller. There are user selectable options
for each of the 4 CCU positions for TOGGLE, LATCH or MATCH.
4xCCU Basic Controller VIDEOHUB INTEGRATION
This video demonstrates the use of
Blackmagic Videohubs as 'camera preview switchers'
controlled by a 4xCCU Basic Controller.
PLEASE NOTE that this video talks about 'non-syncronous'
switching between inputs causing black flashing on the preview monitor. This is
only applicable if the sources are not genlocked
together.
In my normal setup, all my camera's
are referenced to the ATEM output so I do not have the problem, but in this
video I am using multiple non-sync sources to demonstrate 'worse
case scenario'.
There are many features of the Videohub integration with the 4xCCU Controller
that are not discussed here like 'tally from the Videohub', 'automatic data
updating' etc so please refer to the Users Guide for full description.
4xCCU Basic Controller SMARTSCOPE
INTEGRATION
This video touches on the 4xCCU Basic
Controllers SETUP MODE and the Blackmagic Design SmartScope integration.
Usually when you are doing CCU operation on a multicamera
show you need a dedicated monitor and technical monitor eg.
waveform/Vectorscope etc and
the SmartScope is ideal for this task as it has it all built in.
4xCCU Basic Controller MULTIVIEW
4 INTEGRATION
The Blackmagic Design 'Multiview 4' allows 4
sources to be displayed on a Ultra HD monitor for ease
of operation and a lot less gear to have to set up on a multicam production.
This video shows how it is utilised with the 4xCCU
controller and how convenient it is when matching multi camera's.
The video also gives the 1st look at the optional touch screen interface for
the4xCCU.

component not being available)

VIDEO’s
This video is an introduction to the 4 camera CCU
controller for ATEM production Switchers.
It will soon be followed by a video showing the Tally
light integration and then the menu's and their
functions.
The unit is designed to be light weight with easy
interface to the rest of the production system.
The '4xCCUd' is capable of controlling 4 camera CCU's
simultaneously.
Multiple units can be used to control more camera's.
Explains the CCU Controller tally lights.
It explains the use of the various colours and briefly
shows setting up the preview crosspoints and the tally allocation.
BMD
SmartScope integration with ATEM 4xCCU controller
This demonstrates the SmartScope control abilities
from my '4xCCU' Controller.
It will control multiple Smartscopes
but in this video I am only controlling one, but both screens.
In future videos I will show some of the other
functionality of the 4xCCU controller including the following...

Servo
Iris control for Sony EX 1 intro
Here is how you can use the ATEM CCU interface
(including 3rd party controllers) to control a NON BMD camera, OR use it to
control the IRIS of a B4 lens attached to a Black Magic Studio Camera.
This video shows the IRIS being controlled remotely by
the CCU control of an ATEM switcher as well a Grass Valley control panel
interface.
I have been using them for some time now and decided
to make them available for sale to anyone who is interested. This development
will expand out to all available camera's and will
shortly be controlled over a wireless network. All components are made on my 3D
printer so there is no big deal about small quantities.
